Help us, Lord, to not walk by sight but by faith. For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). If we can see it, touch it, or feel it, then it is not faith. If we have already received it, then it is no longer hope. For we hope in the things not yet received, confidently trusting in God that we will receive what we hope for and what we pray to Him for.

I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). In our mind’s eye, we see the powerful hand of God holding us up, so that we do not give in to fear but walk by faith, even to the cliff’s edge, confident that God will do one of two things:
Either He will raise us up and set us upon His highest mountain, so that our head is lifted above all our enemies and out of Satan’s reach (Psalm 27:5–6), or He will, with His mighty hand, cause us to soar and mount up with wings as eagles. For those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31
