The spirit of darkness is already at work in the world—stealing, killing, and destroying lives, leading many down the wide road that leads to destruction (John 10:10; Matthew 7:13-14).

But as followers of Christ, we are called to stand firm on God's Word, resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7).

Live in Christ. Remain in Him. Jesus said, "Abide in me, and I in you... apart from me, you can do nothing" (John 15:4-5). Let us walk daily in obedience—praying continually (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18), worshiping in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24), and praising God in every season (Psalm 34:1).

In this world, we will have trouble, but take heart! Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33).

So rejoice always and be of good cheer. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and live with eager anticipation of His second coming. He promised, “I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3).

While we journey through this life, let us abound in the good works God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Let go of selfish living, and embrace a life of service and compassion.

God calls us to:

  • Loose the chains of injustice
  • Set the oppressed free
  • Feed the hungry
  • Clothe the naked
  • Provide shelter to the homeless
  • Break every yoke
  • Not turn away from our own flesh and blood
    (Isaiah 58:6-7)

Let us be the hands and feet of Christ—living out our faith not just in words, but in action (James 2:14-17).

Shine your light before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).

Christ in you is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
