God will bless us as He has promised. Claim your rights and privileges as a redeemed child of God, and see yourself as God sees you every day — one for whom Christ died on the cross to save. He sees Christ’s righteousness and Christ’s blood. God sees us as His redeemed children (Ephesians 1:7; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
The enemy will try to make us see ourselves in the wrong light. See yourself in the light of Christ and what He has done for us. Let no one boast in anything but in Christ’s death and resurrection, and their faith in Him, and the good news of eternal life through faith in our Lord Jesus (Galatians 6:14; John 3:16).
As God’s redeemed children, be like salt and light in this wicked and fallen, sinful, corrupt world — corrupted by human evil desires — and let your light shine before all men, like a city on a hill and a lamp put on a lampstand that gives light to all, so that men may see our good deeds and glorify the name of our Father in heaven, whose name is holy (Matthew 5:13–16).
Light has its greatest power in darkness, as it is written: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5). Christ is our only light, and in His light we shine as the light and salt of the earth, in accordance with our calling to go into the world and let our light shine before all men, as God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared for us to do before the foundation of the earth was laid (Ephesians 2:10).
As it is written: “Let us go into the world as a breath of fresh air in this sullen and wicked world, and carry the light-giving message of life into the night” (Philippians 2:15–16). As we pray, praise, and give glory to our Father in heaven, by the name of His Son in whom we put our faith and complete trust and confidence, as it is written: “Blessed is the man whose trust and confidence is in the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:7).
Let us be encouraged by His word, that “the Lord watches over the ways of the godly; though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord upholds them with His hand” (Psalm 37:23–24).
