There’s a subtle danger that comes with satisfaction: forgetting the One who satisfies.

“When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God… But be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 8:10-11 (NIV)

When life is going well — when we are comfortable, successful, and secure — it’s easy to grow proud, to think we earned it all by our own hands. But every good thing we enjoy is a gift from above.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights...”
James 1:17 (NIV)

Let us always have a thankful heart, acknowledging that all we have now and all we will ever need comes from God. Gratitude keeps us grounded in humility and anchored in grace. And what is the true purpose of blessing and abundance? Not just to enjoy it, but to share it. To do good, to bless others, to reflect God’s generosity.

“Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”
1 Timothy 6:18 (NIV)

Over 3 billion people live on less than £2 a day. That’s a staggering reality. Yet God gives many of us more than enough — not just for ourselves, but so we can become channels of blessing.

“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
— — 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV)

Let’s choose to remember, to give thanks, and to live with open hands.

May we reflect God’s heart by caring for the poor, sharing what we have, and using our resources for eternal impact.🙏

Lord, help me never to forget You when I am full. Keep my heart thankful and my hands open. Let me be rich in good deeds, generous, and willing to share — so that others may see Your love through me.

Amen.
