Like a bird that flies away from its nest, so is a person who runs away from their home.

But under God’s wings and within His shelter is our permanent home.

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

— Proverbs 18:10 (NIV)

We are kept safe by God's uplifted and righteous hand. The only secure and eternal place we can truly dwell is in the presence of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, who is always by our side and surrounds us with His peace, presence, and grace.

Only in Christ do we find true joy, peace, grace, strength, and guidance.

It is our faith in Christ that saves us and enables us to overcome during times of trouble, affliction, distress, suffering, and difficult circumstances.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

Rejoice in the Lord always and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is His will and His clear command to us.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

— 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)

Let His praises never leave our lips. May we continue to praise Him every day for His unfailing love, and for the salvation we have through our faith in Christ Jesus.

Let our hearts rejoice daily in His salvation.

"My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I whom you have delivered.”

— Psalm 71:23 (NIV)

May we hold on to Him, thanking Him for being our shield against all the attacks of Satan, enemies, and even our own sinful desires—desires we now crucify daily.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

— Galatians 5:24 (NIV)

By the grace of Christ in us, we say “no” to all the evil suggestions of the devil.

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

— Titus 2:11–12 (NIV)

We are no longer enslaved to sin. We are free in Christ.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
— John 8:36 (NIV)
