"Who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults." (Psalm 19:12)
Father, forgive us all our hidden faults, for no one can fully discern their own errors. Forgive us the sins of our youth and our stubborn, rebellious ways—our pride, self-confidence, and tendency to see things from our own perspective rather than Yours. As David prayed, "Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me" (Psalm 19:13).
May the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, our Rock and our Redeemer (Psalm 19:14).
Self-confidence often fosters self-reliance, leading us to shut the door on Your presence and hinder the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We pray for God's confidence. Help us to humble ourselves under Your mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6), to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and to seek Your mercy daily. As we turn to You and do what is right, You are faithful to forgive, for Your steadfast love never changes (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Nothing can prevent, diminish, or separate us from Your perfect love revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39). Through His sacrifice on the cross, He paid the full price for the forgiveness of all our sins—past, present, and future (Colossians 2:13-14).
As it is written, "Her hard service has been completed, her sin has been paid for" (Isaiah 40:2). Thank You, Lord, that through Christ we have received grace upon grace (John 1:16).
Not that we will never sin, but when we do, help us to confess our sins. For You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
God is love (1 John 4:8), and Jesus is the perfect expression of that love. Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). You do not treat us as our sins deserve, nor do You keep a record of our wrongs against us (Psalm 103:10-12; 1 Corinthians 13:5).
Therefore, we worship You with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28), relying each day upon Your sufficient grace (2 Corinthians 12:9).
I pray for a deeper revelation of Your love, that we may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:17-19).
At the end of the age, three things will remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Thank You for the love You have poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).
Thank You that our Lord Jesus Christ is alive in us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). We look forward to the day when He returns in the glory of the Father and with His holy angels (Mark 8:38).
Amen.
