Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, You are the sovereign Lord who reigns over all the heavens and the earth, whose will shall be done in the end. We thank You that You hold us in the palm of Your hand (Isaiah 49:16), and that no one can snatch us from Your hand because You are greater than all (John 10:28–29).
We give You all our thanks and praise, knowing that nothing can separate us from the love You have for us in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39). Thank You for Your unending mercy that You pour on all who believe in Your Son as their Lord and Saviour.
Help us to persevere and stand firm in Your Word as we put our hope in Your Word and wait for the day of Your appearing, more than watchmen wait for the dawn (Psalm 130:6). “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; though it tarries, wait for it; it will not delay. Write the vision and make it plain, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2–3).
Mighty Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and Your protection. Thank You that our lives are hidden in Christ Jesus our Lord (Colossians 3:3), and that in believing in Him we have life, while those who do not believe in Him do not have life (John 3:36).
Help us to humble ourselves under Your mighty hand (1 Peter 5:6), by the power of Your fortifying Spirit in us—the divine power that enables us to live a life pleasing to You, given to us in the abundance of grace and the glory of Your power (2 Peter 1:3).
Though ten thousand assail us, we will not fear (Psalm 91:7), for deliverance comes from Your hand (Psalm 3:8). You are a shield around us, the lifter of our head, and the one who breaks the horn of the wicked (Psalm 3:3; Daniel 7:26).
