"Behold, I Am Doing a New Thing — Can You Perceive It?"
Do not dwell on the past or the former things, for the Lord, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, is always doing something new. He is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. He is levelling mountains and hills before us, straightening what was crooked, and smoothing the rough ground under our feet.
We are called to open our spiritual eyes and ears to perceive what God is doing in our lives and in the world around us. Let us not look back like Lot’s wife, but look ahead—toward the glorious future prepared for those who love Him.
“For our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to us.” At the soon second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, He will appear in the full glory of the Father and the holy angels. Blessed are those who understand this—they shall shine like stars in a dark world. And those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the brightness of the heavens.
These times call for perseverance—for all who believe in Him as Lord of lords and King of kings. Let us live by faith, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Like Paul, let us press on toward the prize that awaits us in heaven.
May God help us to endure the afflictions, troubles, and pains we face for the sake of our faith. Let us take courage from Christ, who after fasting for forty days in the desert, overcame temptation by standing on the Word:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
God is faithful. He has promised:
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed.”
Let us humble ourselves under His mighty hand, standing firm in His Word and in His promises. Let us watch and wait for Him, like watchmen wait for the dawn.
For no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment shall be silenced.
Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. So, brothers and sisters, hold firmly to your faith. The Lord will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him, whose minds are steadfast because they rely on Him.
Let us rejoice, even in trials, for the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Perseverance builds character, and character gives rise to hope.
And this hope does not put us to shame—for God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast? Even if she could, I will not forget you,” says the Lord.
Thanks be to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He has given us overwhelming victory through Jesus and delivered us from the corruption and greed of this world.
It is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Living God. So let us resist the devil, and he will flee from us. And soon, the God of peace will crush Satan under our feet.
On that day, every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. There will be one name lifted high: JESUS.
